Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Agniveer:

Educational Qualification:
  • Class 10th /Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate of five basic subjects and min 33% marks in each of those five subjects. For boards following grading system, grades commensurate to percentages, as Above, will be considered.
    Note: Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver requirements.
  • Indian Gorkhas – Class 10th simple pass.
Age Limit:

The age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years 6 months and not more than 21 years. Candidate born between 01 Oct 2004 to 01 April 2008 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Note: Upper Age limit will be relaxable upto 30 years of age (as on date of joining training) in respect of widows of Defence personnel who have died in harness.

Physical Standards for Indian Army Agniveer:
  1. Height- 162 cms
  2. Weight- Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical standards
  3. Chest Expansion- The candidate should be capable of chest expansion of 05 cms
  4. Special Physical Standards– Candidates belonging to following regions will be given 4 cms
    height relaxation:

    1. North East Region. Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Assam
    2. Gorkhas
    3. Garhwalis
    4. Ladakhis
    5. Tribals of recognized tribal areas.

Note: Domicile and Caste certificate will be considered to determine applicability of height relaxation.

Terminal Benefits– Seva Nidhi Package:

AGNIVEER will be given onetime ‘Seva Nidhi’ package comprising their monthly contribution with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below-

Note: 

  • AGNIVEER will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.
  • There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits in case of AGNIVEER.
Examination Fee:

Examination fee of ₹ 250/- per Category of application is to be paid by the candidate for the online examination. The candidate on successfully filling the application will be directed to HDFC portal through a link on the website. At the HDFC portal, make payment of ₹ 250/- plus Bank charges as applicable. The payment can be made through any of these payment options available:

  • Payment Gateway Facility through Maestro, Master Card, VISA, Rupay Cards both Credit & Debit of all major Banks.
  • Internet banking of HDFC and other Banks.
  • UPI.
